Domain Name Purchase
Both NameCheap and GoDaddy provide very good value for money domain names.
GoDaddy has a good name suggestion tool.
Personally I prefer using NameCheap because it is a simple process and I don't get bombarded with other offers. That's just me though.
Also I feel when it comes to renewal time the NameCheap way is better. Sometimes considerably cheaper!
Be careful with cheap domain offers, because they could turn out to be particularly expensive at renewal time, or there may be other service issues.
The prime rule regarding domain names is that you must use a different company to host your website for your own security.
Hosting
I have been happy with the service from Hostgator & there is a simple system in place so that you can upgrade your hosting plan.
The Baby hosting package is a good one if you want to run a number of websites and the C-panel is user friendly.
There are a lot of support videos available, as well as a search facility for details you require. So far I have found all I needed in these areas.

Another thing to consider if the exchange rates are in your favour is hosting in another country - it may be very cost effective.
Points to consider are that power supplies in some of the larger cities in the world are very stable and have very good protection systems.

Premium WordPress Themes
I have been a convert to WP Flex, because it is a real timesaver and you have many options for customising your theme.
I really like the "reset to default" facility, because I can play around with colors, etc and just return to the default setting, when I have only suceeded in making it worse.
